About the FCCERS-3

Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale -Third Edition

The FCCERS-3 is used in family child care programs serving children birth through 12 years of age.  This 3rd edition rating scale is based entirely on a 3-hour observation. The FCCERS-3 includes considerations for the many ways in which the family child care environment, including the physical caregiving space and materials, personal care routines, provider’s interactions, and the program’s structure support children’s cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development, as well as their health and safety.
